Woke up this morning and nothing’s the same
But I could hear you snoring a million miles away
And I write you letters in my head most overnight
And I dream that we’re back home and you’re holding me tight
Dear you I miss your kiss your loveliness
Dear you I miss your touch I’d give anything to have you near
I spent the day picking flowers in a field
Counting the clouds then I watched them disappear
And I cried with all my might like I have every day
And I tried to think of all the things that you would say
Like stop. Be happy. We had a good run didn’t we baby
Stop. Be happy. We’ll meet again some sunny day
Dear you I miss your touch I’d give anything for a hug

I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche. dani_bloop

I'm slightly sad I didn't start listening to boygenius until but happy to be a fan of their music <3 lissie_a

Julien Baker is an acquired taste - assuming of course you’ve acquired great taste in singer songwriters… beautiful, devastating, honest, insightful… I’ve not heard a single song of hers that hasn’t left me in absolute awe. crisbroadhurst
