My sister and I would always ask one another if we were 'ready to roll out' when we found ourselves in uncomfortable settings. I found the phrase appropriate for the situation I was in while writing, but it's also timely now since everyone is more than ready to 'roll out' into a normal, COVID 19-free routine.
lyrics
I tried
You lied
I died inside
You said
To let
you live your life
The way that you move me
feels like a movie
When will the story end
Got lost in the middle
Left for a breather
I don’t wanna play pretend
I know when it’s time to go
Me and the credits roll
out
Roll Out
I fly away
To find my place
Up high
My mind’s in outer space
Cause it seems a bit too hard to deal
With what I know’s a bit too real
The way that you move me
feels like a movie
When will the story end
Got lost in the middle
Left for a breather
I don’t wanna play pretend
I know when it’s time to go
Me and the credits roll
out
Roll Out
So
I’m on my own for a while
You stay a child
I need to grow for a while
You stay a child
The way that you move me
feels like a movie
When will the story end
Got lost in the middle
Left for a breather
I don’t wanna play pretend
I know when it’s time to go
Me and the credits roll
out
Roll Out
