I spend too much time on my phone
So I force myself to practice ukulele
And I buy too much stuff on Amazon
So I force myself to sing a song that I love, so much
Who have I become?
I’m getting angry at someone
Who commented on some stupid thing I read
When did I decide to pull
Te wool over my eyes and feel
So comfortable playing dead?
My brain is a computer, and I think it’s been hacked.
My brain a computer, and I’d like to have it back.
After all that’s said and done, I fear I’m not the only one.
My brain is a computer, and I think it’s been hacked.
I eat too much junk, but it’s so fast and sweet and cheap
And I breathe too much smog, but I love this city
And I swear that she loves me.
What have I become? I’m disappearing in the sun
And overhearing music that I kind of hate
I’m consuming and I’m glib about the way I chose to live
but I’m not making choices, I’m making mistakes.
My brain is a computer, and I think it’s been hacked.
My brain a computer, and I’d like to have it back.
After all that’s said and done, I fear I’m not the only one.
My brain is a computer, and I think it’s been hacked.

I think it's difficult to write songs about something other than romantic love, and still be able to communicate the intensity with which those feelings can hit a person. Some of the entries on this album are fantastic examples of this niche. dani_bloop

I just started listening to this album today and am IN LOVE! Every track is perfect.
I'm slightly sad I didn't start listening to boygenius until but happy to be a fan of their music <3 lissie_a

Julien Baker is an acquired taste - assuming of course you’ve acquired great taste in singer songwriters… beautiful, devastating, honest, insightful… I’ve not heard a single song of hers that hasn’t left me in absolute awe. crisbroadhurst
